Logo and Packaging Design: Old Okeechobee Coffee Co.

Not many design projects start with a sentence like this one: Florida’s first Arabica coffee farm. After two decades in Florida’s citrus industry, the Davis family planted coffee in Glades County beside Lake Okeechobee, working in partnership with the University of Florida. They needed a brand that felt as bold and as rooted in Florida as the idea itself.

What we did

Logo design and packaging design

A badge with a Florida native at its heart

The logo is a circular badge built around an alligator resting on the bank of the lake, framed by palm fronds. We drew it in a detailed, engraved style that recalls old Florida signage and vintage coffee labels, then set the name in bold arched lettering around the edge. A small “Est. MMXXIV” marks the year the company was founded.

Unmistakably Florida

An alligator and palm fronds say Lake Okeechobee before anyone reads a word.

Built for stamps and screens

The badge works in a single color, so it holds up stamped on kraft paper, printed on a bag or embroidered on a hat.

Heritage without nostalgia

The engraved style feels established, which suits a family that is making Florida coffee history.

Packaging: The Americas

The Americas blend combines Florida-grown Arabica with specialty grade beans from Guatemala and Peru. We designed the bag around that journey. A vintage-style map of the Americas wraps the front, with Florida, Guatemala and Peru marked along the way, and a classic serif title sits over the map with the tasting notes in a band below: smooth chocolate notes, toasted nuts, gentle sweetness and a clean finish.

Back

The side panel carries the Florida, Guatemala and Peru flags with the ingredients, and the back tells the farm’s story beside a photo of ripe coffee cherries: grown in the rich black soil beside Lake Okeechobee, surrounded by Florida’s sugar cane fields. Every panel uses the same badge and color palette, so the bag reads as one piece from any angle on a shelf or in an online shop.
