**UPDATE – Read “Things to do for Labor Day Weekend on Fort Myers Beach and Naples 2010″
Labor Day weekend is fast approaching and as always there is a lot to do on Fort Myers Beach, Fort Myers and Naples. Here is a list of some of our recommendations for things to do on Labor Day Weekend in Southwest Florida.
It’s Margarita Madness at Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa, kick back island-style at their beautiful, 85-acre waterfront paradise. Soak up some Gulf Coast rays and all the fun, like dive-in pool concerts, non-stop drink specials, crazy contests and a fabulous Island Cheeseburger buffet. So pack your craziest shirt and hat and celebrate the end of summer with a party of epic proportions. Everyone who attends will be entered to win tickets to see Jimmy Buffett in concert at Amway Arena in Orlando on November 14, 2009, plus hotel accommodations.
Rent a boat from Snook Bight Yacht Club & Marina, on Fort Myers Beach. It’s going to be a hot weekend, and a great way to enjoy the outdoors with a cool breeze is by boating through the back bay and Gulf sides of Fort Myers Beach. Snook Bight Yacht Club & Marina has a variety of boats available for rent, and they are all easy to operate. Book early as they are usually completely booked up by Labor Day.
If you don’t want to navigate yourself, you can always hire a fun charter to take you around the beach for some dolphin watching, sight-seeing and fishing. We recommend Good Time Charters on Fort Myers Beach to make your day out on the water a memorable one.
In Naples, a wonderful restaurant, somewhat hidden away from the masses, is Bayside Seafood Bar and Grill in the Venetian Village. You can enjoy a really nice, elevated view of the back bay of Naples while you enjoy some delicious drinks and tasty food. On Fort Myers Beach, Bayfront Bistro is a must for any seafood lover, and is always worth the drive from Fort Myers, Estero, Bonita Springs and Naples.
The 43rd annual sailing regatta happens every Labor Day Weekend on Fort Myers Beach, with 40 boats and 250 sailors leaving Fort Myers Beach pier at 9.30am on August 30th. It is the largest and longest running sailboat race in Southwest Florida, and is a nice addition to a day on the beach.
